Snowing in Sweden Bookmark and Share

We’ve had snow for a couple of days in Sweden. Today it started to melt a little, but now this evening it appears to be settling again, and more is forecast. I thought I’d snap some photos around the house just before it went dark, so that I could remember my first proper snowy winter in our little cottage here in Skåna.

Here's a pheasant that I saw slowly walking around in the garden. Walking on an big old log. I took the photo from the kitchen window so it's a bit blurry.

Just driving home before it went dark, I snapped this photo from the car (you can see the car lights nearest the camera shining on the driveway)

Here's a piccy of the house, unfortunately I forgot to turn on all the little Christmas candles in the windows.

I couldn’t resist taking this photo slightly earlier in the day, where the kitten, Betty, obviously wanted a window seat (or fruit bowl) but rather than look at the snow, she just concentrated on personal hygiene and grooming.

So there go. My first proper snowy period living in Sweden.

Oddly, the roads werent gridlocked, everything at a standstill and idiots abandoning cars at the roadside. It was just business as usual. Think the UK has a few things they could learn here from the Swedes about coping with snow!

It looks really “Christmasy”, Betty seems to be content.
