Last night was a real musical feast for the ears…

Dave’s parents Christmas present to us was to go and see Peter Jöback live in concert at the Malmo arena. Like me, most English folk reading this are sat thinking something like “Great! But who the hell is Peter Jöback when he’s at home?”.

Well, apparently he’s pretty darn famous here, and done some big parts in the West End etc. I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but, as it turns out, I really really enjoyed it. He basically sang a selection of Christmas songs and some other bits too (such as an excellent rendition of Jesus Christ Superstar Gethsemani).

Here’s a couple of YouTube vid’s for you to get the idea…

This was particularly good on the night we saw it… but here’s a version of it he last year in Oslo…. (below)

Pitty the quality is sooooo “mobile phone”, but hey, now you get the idea.

One of the main things I was so impressed with was that he stood there and sang for over two hours without one single break! Solid singing. Now I think the Cher’s and Kylie’s of this world could really learn something there. The best bit was that as the two hours progressed his voice didn’t deteriorate but it actually improved and got stronger! Very impressive indeed.

So, from stranger to bestest mates, I’m now an official fan of Mr Peter Jöback.
