Avatar, The 3D film Bookmark and Share

So, it’s not often I would ever consider posting a short blog about a film. I’m not particularly a film buff at all, in fact, I can be quoted as saying recently that there are very few films I’ve watched that I could actually say are that good.

Last night I went to the cinema, again expecting to see an average, possibly poor film… Avatar in 3D.

To my amazement, I actually enjoyed it, to the point that I might consider watching it again sometime.

I thought before I went in to see it that the script would be pretty poor, it would rely on special effects throughout and I would be really desperate to leave after an hour or so. Yet, for some reason, the film really captured my imagination. The special effects were very clever in that they were either used in every single shot so that you’re eyes got used to it, or they were extremely well put together such that you couldn’t tell what was actual footage of a real scene and what was CGI.

Anyway, there are stacks of proper reviews and trailers, so I won’t attempt to do that here. Just thought I’d say, if you do get chance to see it, then I would recommend it, and most certainly go see it in 3D. In my opinion, it is The film to watch in 3D because it really adds to the film, as opposed to just being a normal film with lost of silly obvious bits in it like someone wafting a sword close up to the screen, or throwing a bucket of water etc. The Avatar in my opinion gets 4 stars, for the use of 3D and the new world that they created and so effectively portrayed.

And here’s a photo of me and some friends watching the film…
