Quite surprisingly it seems my little blog here captured a few unexpected visitors in it’s short life… from those who read it for specific advice on how to transport dogs from the UK in to Europe, to others who found it of general interest to see what was happening to someone having left the UK and set up home and business in Sweden. I even had some interest from a TV crew about a year ago! Never thought that would happen when I first started to log the events that occurred during my move to Sweden.

Unfortunately in October 2010 my partner separated from me somewhat unexpectedly, and after much thought and consideration, I decided to move back to the UK to be around those most important to me (for which I’m eternally grateful to them!). Hence, the ‘insweden’ blog suddenly ended after the ’1 year and 1 day’ update post.

Sincere thanks to all those who’ve emailed me since. It’s incredible how complete strangers, who’ve ‘secretly’ been following my blog posts have emailed me with messages of support, concern and just generally kind words. Even though I didn’t reply to all, I read every one and found them to be very comforting in what has been a pretty awkward time.

For what will be my final post on this blog, I just wanted to say that whilst the ‘insweden’ story ended I don’t regret any of it. I gained a huge deal of experience and learnt so much from the whole episode (both good and bad!). Would I do it again? Sure. Although perhaps with hindsight I’d probably have not sold up everything in the UK until I knew I was completely settled there… it did make it extremely difficult to come back and start from scratch again and bring everything back to pile in to storage whilst I hunted or a job, property, car, etc.

Thanks again to all who messaged in person or commented on my posts, and here’s to the next chapter in life – whatever it brings.
